Illegal Immigration is a huge issue dominanting the southern states, both Republicans and Democrats seem to be lacking on the issue. Millions of illegals cross the border every year, costing billions to every tax payer in the U.S., Most of all the bordering states are up for grabs to both parties, though with the correct ideas, someone from either party can win these states. Though its looking like the republicans are dominanting the issue, this can hurt the Dems chance, though in the next coming months, it may be the economy stupid.

Well, the reason illegal aliens are such a huge issue is that in the late 90s or early 00s, America decided to really amp up on border patrol. At the time, there were many Mexicans who crossed the border every day and night, because even though they lived in Mexico, they came over to the United States (like El Paso) to sell cigarrettes and other items on the cheap in order to make money. Most of them managed to make more money doing this than they would have by working in Northern Mexico. However, with the crackdown, crossing twice a day largely increased the risk of being caught. This led many of the Mexicans to decide to simply cross once, and live and work here. However, saying that they cost billions to taxpayers is working on the assumption that they do not pay their taxes. By and large, the majority of illegal immigrants do pay taxes to the federal government. This usually is done through the usage of a fake SSN, but it is done nevertheless.
